Coursera adds practical/historical material (ciphers, discrete probability, PRGs, real stream ciphers, real attacks) the book chapter doesn't cover in the same depth; the book adds the formal definitions and theorem statements. Chapter 1 of the book (Introduction) wasn't recoverable from its PDF extraction. Currently covers: historical ciphers, discrete probability primer, and Book Chapter 2 (Encryption) including stream ciphers and PRG theory.
