What it is

  a design strategy where data is the center of the system architecture, with all components built around accessing, modifying, and storing that data — functions are secondary, operating on the data

Approach
- •
  define the data structure first (an ER diagram or relational tables)
- •
  treat the database as the system's core; processes are a stateless outer layer that only read/write/modify it
- •
  build service modules around that data (e.g. tampilkanMahasiswa(), inputNilai(), cetakTranskrip())

Strengths / weaknesses
- •
  simple, easy to visualize, strong data integrity/consistency, good fit for CRUD-style information systems
- •
  inflexible if the system needs to evolve toward OOP; awkward for real-time or event-driven systems
